Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I want a boy or a girl?
A: Although most Cavalier aficionados prefer boys, females are every bit as good. Cavalier boys are true gentlemen. They are easier to housebreak, especially in rainy weather. They love deeply and are affectionate & more playful with children. They love to be Momma’s boys.
Girls love to be spoiled princesses. They enjoy pampering and being admired. They are a bit more sensitive than boys, and can get their feelings hurt. Both have a sense of humor.
Of course this is just generalization. Each puppy has their own unique character.
So, boy or girl, they are impossible not to love.

Q: What color should I get?

A: It doesn’t matter. You will have more than one. They are addicting and life is too short to not experience all 4 “flavors”.
Cavaliers come in four "flavors": Black and Tan, Blenheim, Tricolor, and Ruby
Q: Are they good in apartments?

A: Cavaliers are happy wherever you are. They are fine in an apartment provided you take them for several walks a day. It isn’t fair to keep then inside all day. They love long walks and laying in the sunshine. They should NEVER be left outside in a kennel.

Q: Do they need a fenced yard?
A: A solid 6’ fence is safest for a Cavalier. It makes housebreaking easier and allows them freedom, especially if you have a doggy door. But as puppies, they should never be let outside alone. There are hawks & owls out there!
